Glaucoma Evaluation
Glaucoma is often referred to as "the silent loss of vision" as it does not cause visual symptoms initially and can lead to irreversible vision loss. At Visionary Eye Care, we perform comprehensive eye examinations and glaucoma screenings to help patients detect this "silent" condition. Components of the glaucoma evaluation include measuring your intraocular pressure (eye pressure), examination of the optic nerve and testing your peripheral vision.

Diabetic Eye Care
Diabetes is a condition that affects the body's ability to produce insulin and/or process sugar which results in elevated blood sugar levels. The increased blood sugar levels can cause damage throughout the body, including the eyes. Patients who are diagnosed with diabetes should have regular eye examinations to assess the health of the eyes for any potential vision changes. Patients with diabetes are at a greater risk of developing a condition called diabetic retinopathy and if left untreated, can lead to permanent vision loss. Diabetic retinopathy is best diagnosed with a comprehensive dilated eye examination.

Visionary Eye Care offers several dry eye treatment options including eye drops, eye heating pads and also closing the tear drainage ducts with punctal plugs to hold in more moisture on the eyes. Our team of doctors will perform a comprehensive eye exam and assess the ocular surface to determine which dry eye treatment is the best option for you.

According to the American Optometric Association (AOA) children should have their eyes examined at 6 months, 3 years, prior to beginning school, and then at least every 2 years following. Comprehensive pediatric eye examinations are critical to assess a child's vision, eye coordination, eye focusing, depth perception and overall ocular health. Early detection of vision changes is KEY for a child's development as it can prevent vision related difficulties in learning and permanent vision changes.
